Rare Mustard-Gold Antique Lingam Singing Bowl – Perfect Pitch A3

This is a nice quality antique Lingam Singing Bowl with a gracefully curved wall, sheered lip, and rounded bottom.  There is an excellent large lingam surrounded and defined by two sets of circles at its centre, with a deep navel or yoni underneath. 

This is a very old bowl with walls worn sensually smooth through years of handling and use, and it is now devoid of any decorative features.  Faint impressions around the upper exterior wall suggest that it may once have carried ritual or magical gashes that are associated with older bowl forms.

This bowl has an excellent perfect pitch third octave fundamental A3 (221Hz) when struck with a padded mallet or played around the rim with a suede ringer, when the pitch becomes 217/218Hz.  The rim note changes to fifth octave Eb5 (634Hz) harmonic when played with a wooden ringer.

A well proportioned 17th – 18th century Lingam Singing Bowl in good structural condition, clean and stain-free, and with an attractive mustard gold colour.
