Unusual Antique Singing Bowl. Note: E3 (Solar Plexus)
Weight 1.14 kilos (2 lb 8 ¼ oz). Size 24 x 8.5 cm (9 x 3 ¼ inches)
This large antique singing bowl has several interesting and unusual features including a wide flanged lip, a gently mounded centre, and a low profile…all of which contribute to its own unique voice.
The struck note is particularly nice with a gong-like sound, and it is responsive and easy to play. The fundamental note is a low third octave E (165Hz) that is concert pitch when struck on the rim with a padded mallet, although it sometimes fluctuates to F3 (170Hz). The note is the same E3 when played around the rim with a suede ringer.
This unusual bowl with its rare form is in excellent and clean stain-free condition and has an attractive bright golden bronze colour.
A padded striker and double-ended teak and suede ringer are included in the price.
