Antique Lingam Singing Bowl. Note: E4 (Solar Plexus Chakra)
Weight: 766 grams (1lb 11oz). Size: 17 x 11 cm (6 ½ x 4 ¼ inches)
This is a very rare 18th Century globular-shaped Lingam Singing Bowl. It has finely forged walls and a flanged lip, with multiple decorative bands encircling the outer wall. It has a neat lingam at its centre surrounded and defined by two sets of decorative circles, and there is a matching yoni or navel underneath.
The fundamental note is a lovely perfect pitch middle octave E4 (328/9Hz) when struck with a padded mallet or played around the rim with a suede or wooden ringer. This bowl is also self-amplifying.
It is structurally sound, clean and stain-free. There is a very faint, shallow, and barely visible dent on its floor that has no impact on its appearance or sound. It has an antique matt bronze colour and aged patina.
A really rare, unusual, and interesting lingam singing bowl with an excellent voice!
A Tibetan silk brocade bowl cushion, padded striker, and a double-ended teak and suede ringer are all included in the price.
