Fabulous Rare Superior Quality High-Sided Antique Lingam Singing Bowl

This is a rare and exquisite example of a superior quality antique golden Lingam Singing Bowl.   It is beautifully proportioned and has smooth gracefully curved walls, a flat bottom, and a plain sheered lip.  There is a nice Lingam at its centre surrounded and defined by 2 sets of circles, with a matching yoni or navel underneath.  This is a very old bowl, dating from the 1800s, and the bands of decorative dots that once encircled the outer rim have all but disappeared with the passage of time.

This beautiful antique singing bowl has a lovely middle octave C4 fundamental (266Hz) when struck with a padded mallet or played around the rim with a suede ringer. The rim note changes to a fifth octave G5 (766Hz) harmonic when played with a wooden ringer.  It’s very responsive and easy to play.

It is structurally sound, clean and stain-free, with an attractive aged patina.
