This is an exceptionally lovely antique Thadobati Singing Bowl with a wonderful perfect pitch middle C#4 (277.3Hz) fundamental when struck with a padded mallet or played around the rim with a suede ringer. The rim note changes to a fifth octave G#5 (834Hz) with a wooden ringer.
This is a well-proportioned superior quality bowl of considerable age but in excellent condition. It has the typical Thadobati form with a flat bottom and smooth gently curved walls with a plain lip. There are circles at its centre and a decorative band of tiny dots encircling the outer rim.
It is structurally sound, clean and free of stains and blemishes, and has the most gorgeous golden bronze colour inside and out.
A really lovely example of this antique bowl type with an exceptional concert pitch voice!
