Heavy Small Antique Manipuri Singing Bowl – G4

This small 19th century Manipuri Singing Bowl has quite thick walls, a grooved lip, and is heavy for its size.  It features a pair of wide set parallel circles at its centre and several faint decorative bands encircling the outer rim.

The fundamental note is middle octave C4 (400Hz) when struck with a wooden ringer, and a sixth octave C#6 (1136Hz) when played around the rim with a wooden ringer.  It is a responsive bowl and easy to play.

It is in excellent structural condition, clean and stain-free, with a bright shiny golden colour.

A small complementary ringer is included.
