Antique Singing Bowl. Notes: C#4, F#5 & D4 (Root, Heart & Sacral Chakras)
Weight 262 grams (0 lb 9 ¼ oz). Size 14 x 5 cm (5 ½ x 2 inches)
This is a very rare, small, and collectable Antique Singing Bowl with its low profile and unusual flanged lip. It features two tiny circles at its centre, sometimes known as an eye, and a pair of boldly incised lines encircling the inner wall below the rim. These lines may not be purely decorative, but serve as markers or levels. The surface of the exterior wall is attractively covered in tiny hammer marks, but is otherwise plain.
This is a multi-harmonic bowl that is best struck and played with a hard wooden striker or ringer. The Fundamental note when struck with a padded mallet is C#4 (284Hz) and G#5 (840Hz) when struck with a wooden one. The rim note is D4 (290Hz) when played with a wooden ringer, and sometimes accompanied by the G#5.
It is in excellent structural condition, free of stains and blemishes, with a nice aged patina.
Small antique bowls such as this have become very collectable!
A small ringer is included in the price.
