Small Multi-Harmonic Antique Manipuri Singing Bowl with Suns

This small 19th century Manipuri Singing Bowl with its well defined artwork is very pretty.  It features several circles including a ring of decorative suns (punched dots within circles) at its centre and all around its lip.  There is also a star motif at its centre and a pair of decorative lines just below the inner rim.

The fundamental note is middle octave D4 (289Hz) when struck or played around the rim with a wooden ringer.  Other harmonics are also present including a fifth octave G5 (798Hz).    It is a responsive bowl and easy to play.

It is in excellent structural condition, clean, stain-free, with a matt golden bronze colour.

A small complementary ringer is included.
