Sublime Small Antique Lingam Singing Bowl – G4

Rare Small Antique Lingam Singing Bowl. Notes: G4 & D6 (Throat & Sacral Chakras)

This is a very pretty superior quality antique Lingam Singing Bowl with a fabulous middle octave G4 (402Hz) fundamental when struck with a padded mallet or played around the rim with a suede ringer.  The rim note changes to a sixth octave D6 (1157Hz) harmonic with a wooden ringer.  It sits very comfortably in the palm of the hand and it is very responsive and easy to play.

This bowl has been exquisitely and expertly forged.  It has a graceful curved wall, a grooved lip, and a rounded bottom.  The neat lingam at its centre is surrounded and defined by two sets of circles, with a matching navel or yoni underneath.  The outer rim is encircled with two decorative bands of tiny dots, and there are incised bands at intervals around its exterior wall and navel.

It is structurally sound, clean, and free of stains and blemishes, with an attractive aged patina.  A rare and lovely little bowl!
