Superior Quality Antique Lingam Singing Bowl – C#4 & G#5

This is a superior quality antique Lingam Singing Bowl with a nice middle octave C#4 (279-281Hz) fundamental when struck with a padded mallet or played around the rim with a suede ringer, and a fifth octave G#5 (825Hz) when played with a wooden one.

It has gracefully curved walls, a grooved lip, a large lingam surrounded by circles at its centre, and a deep navel or yoni underneath. There are decorative incised bands with tiny cuts encircling the outer rim, and more bands around the belly.  A particularly nice feature is the way the smooth surface on the upper part of the outer wall contrasts nicely with the hammered surface below and beneath the bowl.

It is in superb structural condition, free of stains and blemishes, with some slight copper oxidization inside and an aged patina outside.
