Superior Quality Antique Pedestal Singing Bowl – 3 Inscriptions

This superior quality antique Pedestal Singing Bowl has a nice middle octave D4 (286Hz) fundamental when struck or played around the rim with a suede ringer.  It is a very responsive bowl and easy to play.

Typical of this bowl type there are multiple decorative bands encircling the outer rim, but it also benefits from no less than 3 dot-punched inscription on the outer wall, two of which are long.  The scripts look stylistically different and it is likely that they were made at different times for 2 different keepers.  Inscriptions are a sign of the high esteem in which a bowl was held by a former keeper or keepers.  They always add interest and value.

It is in excellent structural condition, basically clean and stain-free, with a bright shiny golden bronze colour.
