Unusual Tibetan Thadobati Singing Bowl – D Note

This antique singing bowl has an interesting and unusual form with its pronounced out-turned and flat grooved lip, low profile and slightly bulbous belly. There are several decorative circles on the inside floor, and some incised banding below the outer rim and around the middle of the belly.  It has a nice golden colour, and is virtually blemish-free and in good condition.

The shape of this bowl makes it slightly self-amplifying and the fundamental note is an interesting mid octave D – sometimes accompanied with a subtle mid octave E flat harmonic.  The note is the same whether struck with a padded mallet or played around the rim with a ringer.  A double-ended teak and suede ringer is included in the price.
