Antique Lingam Singing Bowl. Note: D3 (Sacral Chakra)
Weight: 560 grams (1 lb 4 oz). Size: 13.5 x 6 cm (5 ¼ x 2 ¼ inches)
This rare superior quality 19th Century Lingam Singing Bowl has extra-thick walls and would have been quite a challenge to forge. It is beautifully proportioned and has gently curved walls, a pronounced triangulated and grooved lip, and a rounded bottom. There is an attractive band of decorative artwork encircling the outer rim, and lines around its belly. At its centre its lingam is surrounded and defined by circles. There is a deep matching naval or yoni underneath.
The fundamental note is a fifth octave D5 i(597Hz) when struck with a padded mallet or played around the rim with a ringer.
This small antique lingam bowl fits comfortably in the palm of the hand for playing, and its weight prevents it from spinning in the hand.
It is structurally sound, clean and stain-free, with patches of red copper oxidization adding surface interest.
A really lovely little bowl in every respect!
A ringer is included in the price.
