Antique Bronze Temple Bell with Garuda & Hanuman Top
Size: 7 x 3 inches (18 x 7.5 cm)
This 19th Century bronze priests hand-bell would have been rung on countless ritual, puja, and ceremonial occasions in Nepal. The rung note is a nice sixth octave G#6 (1684Hz).
The top features the praying mythical Garuda bird and Hanuman the Monkey God. with 5 huge protective cobras (nagas) above. Unusually, the bottom of the bell is decorated with alternating dorje and conch shell motifs.
This temple handbell was cast in a bronze alloy by the lost wax method and is therefore a unique one-off item. It is in excellent condition with an aged patina. It would make a very nice original gift!
