This is a fine example of a large Ultabati singing and fountain bowl with an excellent low E flat fundamental note with a long pulsating sustain.  The note is the same whether struck with a padded mallet or played around the rim with a leather-wrapped ringer, but the latter produces the more powerful resonance with multiple overtones.  With a little water inside, this bowl, like most Ultabati bowls, will readily produce great fountains.

This old bowl is in excellent condition.  It has the classic Ultabati form, a very attractive mottled rim and a clean golden interior.  A bowl cushion and a large teak and suede ringer are included in the price.
