Superb Rare Antique Jhakri/Shaman Guru Phurba from Nepal

This is an unusual and highly collectable antique wooden Jhakri or shaman’s phurba from Nepal.  It would have been used for  transformative rituals, healing and protection.

It features two back-to-back praying guru emerging from the mouth of a snake or fish, below which is Makara in the form of a head.  The 3-sided blade features a different creature on each facet…a snake, centipede, and scorpion.

This antique phurba is in excellent museum quality condition and has the patina of long use and antiquity.
