Tiny Carved Bone Shaman Phurba From Bhutan

This is a tiny carved bone Jhakri or shaman’s phurba (ritual dagger) from Bhutan. It features the large head of a fierce deity wearing a skull headdress topped with a dorge or vadjra crown.  A smaller human head and an elephant makara (mythical sea creature) form the hilt, leading to a 3-sided blade decorated with snakes.

This tiny 20^th century phurba has been intricately carved with lots of detail and is in perfect condition.
