Topeng Monyet Tua

A vintage mask, circa 1990, by the renowned Balinese mask carver Wayan Tangguh of Singapadu (19 c 14 cm).  Carved in Pule Wood and painted with natural pigments mixed with ground bone, it features an articulated jaw hinged with water buffalo hide, human hair beard and monkey fur eyebrows.

A very unusual and rare mask personally purchased directly from the carver at his home, where he signed it on the back in Balinese.  Excellent condition, and very collectable
