Antique Tibetan Dorje Phurba (24cm/9.5 inches)
This old Tibetan phurba has a well-defined shape with a large top and bottom joined by a narrow dorje hilt. The three large faces of the deity are nicely carved and topped by a diamond-shaped dorje crown. There is a simple makara with 7 carved symbols including sun, trident, bhumpa and, unusually, a bow and arrow. Each facet of the three-sided blade has stylized entwined serpents. The middle of the hilt has been wrapped in silk or cotton thread used in past rituals. Excellent condition (Circa: early 20th Century).
