Antique Tibetan Wooden Phurba (26cm/10inches)
This old Tibetan Phurba has a very grainy well-weathered look and a tremendous patina indicative of considerable use and great age. Measuring 10 inches it is a little larger than average and probably dates from the 19th Century, possibly earlier. It features a Garuda crown atop the carved heads of the three wrathful deities invoked to dwell within. Beneath the deities are two carved knots, a bold Makara, and three pairs of entwined serpents.
