Antique Bronze Temple Bell with Trishula from Nepal

This is a fine example of an antique bronze hand bell that was formerly used by a priest on ritual and ceremonial occasions. The rung note is a very satisfying sixth octave C#6 (1098Hz)

The top of this bell features a Trishula or trident; a divine Hindu symbol said to remove the troubles of the past, present and future.  It is the three pronged spear and weapon the god Shiva uses to fight off negativity.

This bell was individually cast by the lost wax method and is therefore a unique one-off item.  It dates from the 19th Century and is in good structural conditionand.  It was sourced in Nepal.
