Ebony Male Ancestor from Lombok

Ebony Male Ancestor Figure from Lombok  19cm (7.5 inches)

An old ancestor or guardian figure from Lombok island, Indonesia, of a nude male sitting on his haunches with his hands gripping his knees.  The figure has great character and is nicely carved and well-proportioned, with a small topknot, and exagerated large ears.  It is carved in dense heavy ebony wood and is in very good condition apart from an old and stable crack that runs from the neck to the penis.
