Leti Male Ancestor Figure

Leti Male Ancestor Figure 22 cm (8.5 inches)

An interesting old ancestor figure from Eastern Indonesia, possibly Leti or Timor.  He has a wonderfully stylized pointed head on an elongated neck, and sits on his haunches with his hands clutching his legs. It is carved in a local hardwood and in excellent condition save for a little ancient damage to the nose.  Originally purchased from an antique shop in Bali in the early 1990s, and believed to be late 19th or early 20th century.
