This is an old Balinese kris or keris ceremonial dagger hilt (circa 1950) depicting the revered fertility and rice goddess Dewi Sri holding her hands together in the gesture of prayer.  It is well carved in rosewood or mahogany, and is in excellent condition.  It was purchased in the early 1990s from a private collection in Bali.  This is a lovely little object in its own right, and displays very well.
