Balinese Songket Saput or Waistcloth
A really superb example of a man’s hand-woven songket saput or waistcloth from Jembrana, Bali (circa 1950). This rare and beautiful traditional textile features a classical Balinese rice-sheaf motif, and is woven in coloured silks on a cotton ground. It measures 82 x 120 cm (32 x 47 inches) and is in exceptional condition.
