Antique Lingam Singing Bowl.  Notes: E4 & A5 (Solar Plexus & Third Eye Chakras)
Weight 403 grams (0 lb 14 ¼ oz).   Size 15.5 x 4.5 cm (6 ¼ x 1 ¾ inches)

This exquisite small 18th century Lingam Singing Bowl is one of the oldest and rarest in my collection.  It has been expertly crafted and has masses of charm as well as 2 good voices both of which are very close to perfect pitch.  The fundamental is middle E4 (328Hz) when struck and a rare powerful and ppenetrating fifth octave A5 (885Hz) when played around the rim with a wooden ringer.

This rare bowl has a very low or shallow form, with a slightly flared wall, a grooved lip, and a flat bottom.  It has a nice lingam at its centre surrounded and defined by circles which continue in pairs across the floor and around the inside wall.  There is a neat matching yoni or navel underneath.

It is beautifully proportioned, highly detailed, and has great aesthetic appeal.  It has a truly beautiful aged patina and colour, and the look and feel of great antiquity.

This ancient Lingam bowl is in excellent structural condition and a delight to look at, hold and play.

A perfect example of this rare and ancient bowl form, and highly collectable!

A Tibetan silk brocade bowl cushion, and 2 different ringers are included in the price.

Listen: (3 struck notes and 2 played notes with a wooden ringer)
