Antique Jambati Singing Bowl.  Notes: A2/G#2 & Eb4 (Third Eye/Throat & Solar Plexus Chakras)

Weight 1.76 kilos (3 lb 14 ¼ oz).  Size 25.5 x 11.5 (10 x 4 ½ inches)

This 10-inch antique Jambati Singing Bowl has a powerful, pulsating, and low voice that sits on the cusp between a second octave A2 (107/8Hz) and a second octave G#2 (106Hz) when struck with a padded mallet or played around the rim with a suede ringer.  The rim note changes to a middle Eb4 (316Hz) with a wooden ringer.

It has been expertly crafted and features a deep body with attractive hammer markings to the outer wall.  It has a plain sheered lip with a decorative band forming a collar around the outer rim, and circles at its centre.

This antique bowl is in excellent structural condition, clean and free of stains, with light copper oxidization and a few inclusions.  It has a bright golden bronze colour.

Note:Inclusions are impurities in the molten metal during casting, and are indicative of poor or primitive working conditions.  They appear as tiny raised spots beneath a bowl’s surface.  They add interest, and serve as a reminder that these are hand forged antiques.

A Tibetan silk brocade bowl cushion, padded striker, and a double-ended teal and suede ringer are all included in the price.

Note: Audio clips coming soon.
